The Destination

OCEANWEST, Ucluelet’s new master-planned oceanfront community, is situated along the rugged shores of the open Pacific Ocean. When the 92.5-hectare (228-acre) development is complete it will include a mix of permanent residences, vacation homes and rentals, hotels and a few retail stores.

More than 20 percent of OCEANWEST will be designated park land with the existing 2.2 km (1.4 mi) of the Wild Pacific Trail plus 4.5 km (3 mi) of looped hiking trails.

Each lot will be carefully sited within the existing old-growth forests, and many sites will offer magnificent views of the Pacific. OCEANWEST is one of the few remaining pieces of undeveloped land in the Pacific Rim area of Vancouver Island.

An award-winning destination

In 2006 Ucluelet won six provincial, national and international awards for community planning excellence and environmental sustainability. Vancouver Island has been ranked the Top North American Island by Condé Nast Traveler magazine readers the last seven years in a row.
